CREST Awards

Science enrichment opportunities to inspire and engage 3-to-19-year-olds.

CREST Discovery
Organizations and individual applicants can apply.
Description

Discovery Awards can be completed in a single day or spread out over a 5-hour project. They’re for young people ideally ages 10 to 14 looking to deepen their STEM knowledge and skills. Through hands-on activities, students develop communication, problem-solving, and teamwork, while also building resilience and motivation.


  • 5 hours of work and can be done in a day 
  • Students work in groups to solve one or more STEM challenges.
  • Select challenges from the CREST resource library
  • Students record and reflect on their work throughout, using a CREST Discovery passport, and communicate their findings through a group presentation.
  • Projects are assessed by a teacher, carer, or another responsible adult. Awards are non-competitive, and any student who has sufficiently participated should be awarded.

Cost

  • £3 (including VAT) per student in the UK*
  • £7.50 per student internationally**

  • Estimated time: 6 minutes
  • Required for schools: School/organisation name, reference number (unique reference number, school number, or SEED code), delivery address
  • Diversity information of young people who participated (select "not known" or "prefer not to say" if unsure)
  • Option to order for personalised or non-personalised certificates.
